The Northern Territory Police Dog Operations Unit contracted Dog Force Australia to deliver the Police Dog Handlers Course – Detection Operations in Darwin. Dog Force Australia sourced and pre-trained three labradors on all the known narcotic odours to a very competent standard in preparation for the course. I was also impressed that Dog Force Australia is a Registered Training Organisation which allowed our handlers to receive nationally recognised Statements of Attainment. Our Unit now has two new handlers and three new Drug Detection Dogs that are already making a huge impact on illegal drugs in the Northern Territory.
